Illuminate: 30 Days of Photographs

Day two of Ziva and MikeWJ's photo challenge, 30 Days of Photographs. I did not have any ideas for day two's subject. And then a light bulb above my head illuminated. Our main source of illumination would be a  perfect photographic target. Sunset from my balcony set to sepia tones and voila, day two of the challenge is complete.

Sunset

  1. Thank god you didn't go for something horribly cliche like a sepia-tinted sunset. Oh, wait..

Seriously, though, that's a really nice photo. :) It has this dreamy quality to it that I really love.

    1. I was going to go with the black and white but it just didn't have enough cliche.

Here comes the sun, and I say...

  2. That's a great shot! Somehow it reminds me of E.T. I know, I'm weird.

  3. Nicely done, Shawn. (Ziva wrote exactly what I was going to write, right down to the sepia comment! Damn her.)

Makes me think I should get a new camera. :)

  5. Beautiful! I'm a little concerned, though, that people are actually taking bonafide art photos for this challenge. Guess that explains why I'm on #teamlame.

    1. Did you see my "soft" photo? Don't worry about art in these parts. :)

  6. That's a great shot, but maybe next time you could cut down the trees so we get a better view of the sun?

    1. Uh, no! You take the pic when the sun is higher in the sky. No cutting down trees for pics unless you are building a Log Cabin.

Of course I mean that in the kindest way possible there, Scary Nicky.

    2. Too late. I already cut down all the trees in my neighbourhood.

  7. Sorry, I don't care for this one. I like more color and detail. Only my opinion.

  8. Interesting quality to this shot. In fact, I don't think that's the sun at all but a hole in the universe. We're doomed!

    1. Unfortunately Mike, the universe ends after the photo challenge is over.

  13. I like the soft-focus feeling of it, and the simplicity of the lines broken by the sun. And I agree with Katherine, you have an amazing view.
